Chives ... should I or shouldn't I?
« on: Nov 23, 2008, 12:38:22 AM »
Since I have the peat moss in the sidewalk I'm wondering if I should go ahead and plant the chives now.  They are in a bucket outside so they are already used to being outside.  Am I being crazy?  I'm probably being crazy.

I just so want to get the herbs started you know?

When I lived in Rochester, NY, I had chives growing. They came back in the spring. So I think you might be safe. You might want to mulch them this first winter.

I think chives are pretty hardy. They should be fine.

I'll be the third to say go right ahead. I move mine around this time of year and they don't mind.

Thank you for the go ahead.  It was way to cold today but if it warms up or I get froggy I'll get out there and do it.
