Tonight will be fajitas and rice.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Tonight will be butterfly shrimp for some if stomachs are up to it. If not I have loads of soup makings. This is tough going, guys.

I can only imagine, Tina. It's hard enough for me to cook around everyone's schedules...if they all needed to eat differently too, I'd be sunk.

I think tonight's going to be leftover night. The fridge is looking full, and I'm working on not wasting any food this year.

Sorry, I didn't mean to whine. I will provide my own crackers with that whine.

It's not whining at all. I've spent the last three days trying to figure out how to cook better/more for my household. It's harder than I was expecting.  :thpullhairout:

I just poked breakfast into the girls. That was a battle and a half. My new battle plan revolves around filling them full of good food, so there is less room for crap and empty calories. Maybe this plan will work.  :waiting:

I hope it works for you. If it makes you feel better, as they age they will most often grow into some healthy habits of their own. Jonni is at least.
Do not pay attention to my oldest daughter. I fed my first family very healthy on a shoestring budget. Then she grew up moved out and lived on fast food for years. At 300+pounds later she is not a happy camper, nor a healthy one.

I've tried several approaches now...there really isn't junk food in the house, but they walk to work, and have their own money.

Marissa has battled a weight problem her whole life. I feel for her. I want to help, but there is no "good" way to help a surly teen.

Stouffer's Lasagna for supper here tonight. With garlic bread and a salad. I am too tired to even think about cooking... :)

I think we'll have biscuits and gravy tonight for dinner.  I have girl scouts tonight so I've got to keep dinner quick and simple.  Maybe I will show an unprecedented amount of forethought and make the biscuits (at least the dough) before I go to GS.  Maybe.

It will be stir fry night here, with a big salad as the first course. I've not yet decided if I'll be using chicken or beef.

Love stir fry!  Yum.

We are having ribs tonight.  I think I will make a cabbage/ramen salad to go with them and baked potatoes.

Chili is going to be our supper tonight. The wind is blowing like crazy tonight and the temperatures are dropping... :razberry:

I love it Sarah and about half the kids.  I will have to type up and post the recipe tomorrow.

Tonight we had brats and hot dogs.

We had taco salad tonight.  It always surprises me that something covered in Catalina dressing can be that good.

Lookin' forward to that recipe, Triss!

Tonya, what did you top the tortellini with? That makes a big difference around here...

Tonight looks like corn chowder with loaded potato bread on the side.

Sarah- I topped it with marinara sauce..... the sauce was good, but I cooked the tortelini longer than it said to and it still seemed not done to us.... almost like the noodle part was done, but the stuffing wasn't. They were gross. I will try a different kind or something next time.

That is why I hate buying pre-packaged stuff, tho.....

Tonight is meatloaf. With some roasted potato and onions and pumpkin on the side. I was thrilled to find a firm pumpkin at a Mexican market. I had some like it  roasted in New Zealand.  And they were cut in half so I was able to pick a size without too much to possibly waste. These are not pie pumpkins. They are more of a very firm squash. I thought I might have to find seeds and grow my own. Now if I cam just find some kumaras........ (a  NZ yam).

Tonight we are having Zattarins Red beans and rice with broccoli.  I thought I bought some italian sausage brats for it but I can't find them, so maybe I didn't.   :Crybaby2:

we had left over vegetable soup and I made a cauliflower, broccoli and edamame salad.

Tina, how did you fix the pumpkin and how do you eat it?

I had leftover soup from the other night and Jim had leftover chili. Megan ate a can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti... ::)
