collections

So what do ya'll collect. If someone had asked me that question, I would have said, nothing." However when I got to looking around I guess I collect a lot of stuff, mostly junk and dust.

I love wind chimes, and I have a bunch of them. I bought five more little ones yesterday.

I also love candles especially the ones with the lamp shades. I don't have a whole lot of them, about six or seven - still enough to junk up the place

I also like bird houses. From where I sit right now I can see eight. I have a few more in other rooms.

I also like angels and have quite a few of them as well.

So I am a collector of junk, but it's my junk.

No, you aren't, Aunt Bonnie! You know I have a big dust collection, myself!

I don't really know why, but I am sort of fond of those little Santa Wannabes. You know... gnomes! I have started collecting them since I have thought about doing a theme garden with 'em. I don't really "love" them, but I think a gnome garden would be nice. I have quite a few now. I wish I were as talented as Angelblossom. I would love to build a gnome set-up like she has. It is simply beautiful. We need to get her to post a picture of hers here at SSH...

I like angels, too. Momma's memorial garden is going to have angels in it, along with the Angel birdbath fountain that I bought on clearance. Jim ordered me a "Helen" rose and an olive tree, since I called her "Olive Oyle", to plant in her area...

I love water fountains, but Jim has put a stop to me collecting any more of them. He said we are running out of electical outlets to connect them to. I have several inside the house and a couple outside...

I thought I would start a collection of frogs for Jim, but I ended up with more of them for myself. I have a lot around Uncle Johnny's memorial garden pond. I can't wait to get started back to work on that again.

I will be collecting chickens soon for my cousin's, my grandmother's, and my dad's shared memorial garden. My dad's nickname was "Chick", my cousin collected chickens, and I think of chickens for some reason when I think of Granny.

Leaf motifs are my thing right now for inside the house. I guess because the wallpaper in the kitchen and bathrooms have leaves all over them. I bought a tablecloth, potholders, and dishtowels with the leaf theme. Pineapples are in my living room. Palm trees are in one of the bedrooms.

I like dragonflies, butterflies, pixies, and birds. All the things that I have been collecting will end up in garden areas outside, probably. The more areas I plant in gardens will be less to mow of these 7.96 acres. I just wish I had the money to get it all done at one time instead of doing it a little at the time...

Anyone else collecting dust or junk around here?

Hey Bonnie, I never replied in this thread before, cuz I didn't think I collected anything anymore, except seeds!

Then then other day I realized that I do have a collection of something.... my "food people"!

I don't know what they're really called, but I'm just crazy about them cuz their faces are so darned cute. I have them sitting above my kitchen cabinets, between the doors. At the dentist office last year, I saw a whole set of "flower people" that are probably a different series in this same line, but I've never run across them in any store around here. Dianna had sent me the flower guy (on the top) a couple of months ago... not knowing that she woke up my interest in them again!  I haven't looked on the web for them yet, but they're probably posted on e-bay somewhere.

I used to collect Orca whale figurines, & have all the Orcas in the John Perry© series, but people started giving me Bottlenosed dolphins instead, so I packed everything away in hopes that they'd forget about it!

I found them online at Collections Etc, Patty. They are called veggie sitters. Looks like you have four more in your collection than is offered there, though...

I am keeping my eyes open for the flower sitters now. I noticed that the flower and veggie sitters are sold out on Collections Etc...

I checked ebay and the flower sitters were there.  Set of 8 for $14.99.  Don't think that is much less than the place Dianna found.  Didn't find any veggie sitters though.  :ScratchHead:

He mentioned to me that they were $10.99 for shipping, though!

I am sure that we can find 'em cheaper somewhere!  :grinnnn:

That's not a bad price though, even with the shipping, but I know that there are a lot more than 8 in the flower series, so I think I'll just keep my eye out in my travels.  I got this set at a flea market, where they were priced at $3.75 each.  I talked the lady into giving them to me for $36 after I told her I wanted all of them!

I've always liked the banana guy & the mushroom guy best! If they weren't made out of that hard resin, they'd be sooo huggable!

(I replaced the pic I'd posted yesterday, cuz I took that one with a disposable camera before I got my digi cam, & it was fuzzy. I decided to take a new one of them, with the flower guy Dianna sent me.)

I really, really like that bottom one, Rita!  Which one is supposed to be the ugly one?  :SmileyQmarks:

You have some great colors on the wall to "showcase" them. They all look great! :grinnnn:

I thought Keith was old enough to know better than to skateboard in the house!  :Whack:

Gargoyles are really strange looking. If you love 'em, I will be checking out thrift stores around here for them! :) You never know what kind of good deals you can run into in those places...

Hope the kids DON"T chip the paint, Rita! Tell 'em you will go on strike from cooking if they do!  :mad2:

Now I can't say them masks are purty, but they sure are interesting. Does each one of them mean something different?

I don't have any but there are alot of death masks which are not bad they are suppose to help the spirit come out of the body and go where it belongs!! I just think they are interesting
