Topic: small and funny tale of a cat and a computer tech

The tech being me - one of my roles at my previous school, asides from OHS, full time teaching of science, math, Physics and Chemistry was being a network admin and IT tech (oh the joys of small rural schools!).

Anyways, one Saturday I was doing what i usually do, lying down on the floor, half underneath a bench, fixing the cabling....

every single day, a local cat - a great big ball of happy fluff would wander in, pad itself down and sleep....

...on my chest!!!

That cat followed me everywhere, to classes, to meetings, and so forth...

I must admit, I enjoyed the company and would many long discussions with the cat.  An example:

Me "Darn this 'puter, why is it not working???"

Cat "Meow!"

Me "I should throw the darned thing out the window"

Cat "groooooowl"

Me "Hmmm, you're right, I'll keep trying"

Cat "purrrrr"

That cat made more sense than most humans

that cat was nicknamed 'shadow' as that is where it was.

Funny thing is, is that it never followed me on the 4km walk home each day - it would wait for me each morning

Cute story!! I agree- most animals have more sense than the majority of people I know!

I agree with Tonya. 

I have a cat much like that. She was one of the strays at the fire staion, and someone had started killing them, so I "saved" her and brought her home. For my trouble, the first two or three months she regularly scratched me. I had to earn her trust...

Today, she's my garden buddy, and one of the best cats I've ever had.  She gets upset when I walk away from the house, wether it's to walk to town to shop or taking the dogs or goats for a walk. She will follow a few blocks, and if she knows where I'm going or what route I'll take, she will meet me several blocks from home.

Most of the time, however, she just shadows me around the gardens.  She is rather vocal, hence the name meow-meow.
