Since we all have vehicles and the economy is not really to good to our pockets book, plus I had time to think :ScratchHead:, I was woundering if we could make a spot for tips on fixing things around the house, cars, and safety  percautions on fixing things? Even put up pictures of dream cars or just something we all would like to have, or even show pictures of someone working on cars or that funny story of trying to fix something that never got fixed.

Cool, idea.
I keep saying that they need to make basic home repair a requirement for high school graduation. Changing a washer in a faucet and toilet repair and such. Our district even had it for a quarter in jr. high for a couple of years. My son learned a lot of little tips. But then they dropped it. So much money could be saved with DIY projects. So many people haven't a clue.

I agree there.  Dan and I have muddled through fixing a few things around the house.  We are lucky to have his dad close by who was  GE repairman for years and years.  If we have a major issue, he helps.

As for a dream car... I would LOVE a 67 Mustang Fastback.  Not that I could ever work on it or rebuild it myself, but it is a dream.  So many schools do not even have auto shop anymore.  I think kids are missing out with those types of programs being missing.  Same for a true home economics class that teaches basic cooking skills.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Home ec was more than basic cooking when I took it (required 8th grade). It taught basic home ECONOMICS. Bookkeeping for a family, etc. as well as the sewing stuff. Good things and a good basic grounding to build on. Life skills.

Sounds like something that might be useful Jayrod.  We need to hear some more suggestions on how you would like it set-up.  I see the ladies are already posting problems here, but what we need is suggestions on how you would like that particular area set up.

Are we talking about one additional category?  Something like DIY Successes and Failures, DIY Angels and Demons, etc. and all the topics under that?  I hesitate to start creating additional sub-topics for each category because of the complexity that we could get into.

More thoughts on how you would like it set up.  Save the issues for when we do get it all done.

I like it too.  I like the title DIY Angels and Demons only cuz some fixes are easy and some are... grrrrr... so frustrating!

That's what I was thinking when I posted the titles.  I was trying to tie the title back in with the site theme as well.
