Growing your own mushrooms
« on: Apr 15, 2009, 12:13:13 PM »
Does anyone grow your own mushrooms? Or have you in the past?

I found this site while reading about it, and I really like some of the indoor kits, and even a few of the outdoor kits sound interesting to me: http://www.fungi.com/

We use a LOT of mushrooms, but I'm a little leary of ordering a whole kit. I've mainly used baby portabellas, and they don't seem to have a kit for those. Have you tried any of the types they have?  :dunno:

I watched a show about growing mushrooms and the guy kept eating the Enokitake shrooms.  He liked them a lot.  None of them are familiar to me though.  You do find the coolest things, though, Sarah!

A friend received a kit for Christmas a couple years ago. She had fun, mostly just watering and tucking it into the closet. Hers were button shrooms, though.

I sure wish that I could eat all the mushrooms that pop up in my yard. My luck they would be psychoactive kind.
This is me ->?
