That's what my dad used to say "Son you are so full of sh**" and I don't think he was talking about horses :naughty:

Johnnie, if anyone tells us that we are full of s***, we can tell them that we aren't, but our garden is... :giggle:

Jim is planning on tilling this under when it dries a bit, and then we are going to have the HO start piling it back up again.

I noticed this morning that mushrooms were growing in the compost. More organic matter! :Yahoo:

It is looking good. You can easily use 3 times that much in there and not have too much, Dianna. 'Specially tilled in.

I am enjoying the thought of reaping the rewards next year, Tina... :good2:

Did y'all know that a single horse puts out 50 lbs. of poop per day? :o  There are three next door... :Yahoo:

Wow! that horse muck looks really good stuff pure with no bedding straw,Explanation: over here when you get horse muck it normally comes out of a stable and is mixed with bedding straw so the end result is 50-50 and of course the straw takes a lot longer to rot down, the only way to get what you have there is to collect it srtaight out of the field (bucket & shovel)I envy you.If Jim ploughs what you have straight in, then your soil structure will be beautiful & help to retain moisture, with the end result of being a great growing medium. Even better if you can do the same next year and the year after that. Are those mushrooms edible??

It is coming straight out of Virginia's back yard, Johnnie. They should be making a few more deliveries today....

Are those mushrooms edible??

I'm not going to try them... hysteria

This is coming straight out of the field Johnnie.  That was a condition our neighbor put on renting out her back field to the folks with the horses.  They must clean up the poop!  I'm going to have them drop loads between the piles out there now.  Then I intend to spread it out some before tilling it in.

I have a larger spot where the corn was and am going to have them do the same there.  Both areas can be tilled easily as they have been before.  Once those areas are covered I think I am going to have them dump it in new areas that I will just turn under when I get my plow.  I intend on moving the corn patch a little closer to the house in the hopes that the deer will leave it alone.

I went outside to spread what we already have now. The HO will be bringing me some more poop in a bit. They are over there scooping it right now... :Yahoo:

He told me that they are thinking about putting a sign up at the end of Virginia's driveway to sell the poop for $20 a load, delivered. He will continue to bring it to us, though, until someone starts buying it... :yesssss:

It has been a beautiful day here, Sheri, but it looks like it is clouding up outside now. :razberry:

I have all the poop spread. I can see where we are going to need more... :grinnnn:

We thought we had enough on the garden and after Dianna went out there and spread it out, it looks like we could use about 6 or 8 more loads just on the garden.

And kind of what I said when Dianna posted pics. Those piles spread out thin, don't they? But Any is better than none.

What dog, Jessica? Are you talking about our fourth child? :giggle: Angel is a Jack Russell Terror.   I mean terrier...

Sheri, come on down and you can help me spread the poop. :laughpound:

Tina, I know exactly what you were talking about now. I couldn't believe that it didn't totally cover the garden and be about three inches high... :thspeechless-vi:
