Snowy Heat Pump
« on: Feb 09, 2010, 08:12:09 PM »
The ice and snow has been falling into the heat pump and sometimes the heat pump makes some serious noise.  Is it being damaged?  Is there anything I can do?

Are you talking about on the compressor?  Ours gets snow on it and looks frozen and makes a loud noise when it's breaking up and it's ok.

The heat pump will go into defrost mode and make different noises.  Ours gets now and ice in it every winter and is just fine so I wouldn't worry about it, Tammy.
