What's for dinner #22
« on: Feb 12, 2010, 07:08:04 PM »
In response to Sarah's
"I was just informed one of our friends and his wife are joining us for dinner. That'll take care of someof the extras."

Don't you just love unexpected dinner guests? Do you have to replan what to serve?

Not at all. Everything I'm making serves at least 4, and is decidedly not kid friendly.

The pots de creme set!  :yay_jump: Now they are in the fridge chilling. Hopefully the panna cotta sets, too.  :Whis:

Do you have a good site to convert American measurements to metric, Sarah?

If you type it into google, google itself spits out the answer. All the sites I've found are more confusing.

Cool, I brought home several cookbooks from New Zealand and have been sent more. Some is OK because a cup is a cup both places. And a kilo is 2.2 pounds, etc. But when they get into grams I have to research.....

Jim has steaks on the grill and I will be making some diced potatoes with onion to go with them. Might open a can of green beans, too... :licklips:

Tasty deli wraps for dinner tonight.  Quick, easy, not too unhealthy, and little cleanup.

Barb. :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Just because you live alone doesn't mean that you shouldn't eat right. Remember that to be healthy, your body needs to be fed healthy foods. Especially when you have diabetes to worry about. Find something good to go along with the cookies. Please? :wink5:

I had leftovers from the Thai House that we had Saturday and Jim had leftover steak from last night. Sure felt good not to have to worry about cooking... :grinnnn:

I had real food at lunch. I promise! It had penne noodles, a highly seasoned tomato sause and lots of cheese, baked to perfectness.  I'll be eating it all week since I haven't learned to cook for one yet. lol

Has anyone ever tried Ragu spaghetti sauce in a jar?  I have always made my own but Colby, my grandson, won't eat it.  He will however eat Ragu Original Sauce.  I added mushrooms to a jar last night and it's really good.

I do pick it up on occasion when the kids want spaghetti but I do not have time to cook.  We get the original meat sauce one.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.
