Mystery (weed?) - [Solved] Scarlet Pimpernel (herb)

When I was sitting in my Nigella patch yesterday (weeding), I ran across a couple of these plants with tiny orange blossoms on them & couldn't figure out if they were something else the birds planted, or if they were weeds.
They seem to be a creeper of some sort, & since they're on the slope above my Iris row & I need plants there that'll help hold the soil, I decided to leave them alone for now.
Here's a closeup of the flowers.
Does anyone know if this is a "real" flower, or am I cultivating a weed?

It's scarlet pimpernel. It was/is considered a helpful herb to most indian tribes of the area, though it has fallen out of favor with most who don't understand it.
If it were me, I would let it be. It's a very well-behaved "weed", never getting taller that about 4".
I have been known to collect seed to it when I can find it, so I can use it as ground cover.
Enjoy!

Oh goody, goody!
It's a herb!
Thanx, Sarah! You've had this mystery section smoking lately with your answers, & I wasn't surprised that you knew this one too!
Although it appears to be a "creeper", I dont see that it's a very invasive one (yet) & I sorta like it! Maybe I can get seeds from it, & get it going between the tiles on my walkway.
Want me to save some seeds for you too?

I think I still have a few seeds left for me...let me look around. If I can't find them, I'd love some more!
I love the color of the blooms...it goes so well with other colors.
