I soaked my oats in milk and lemon juice, cooked them in water having to add a little more than called for.  Brought them to school.  Added a little more water and warmed them in the microwave and they were yummy.  Wish I had made another serving.

I'm out of yogurt.  I ate the entire 20 ounce container.

I brought grapefruit for snack.

I made myself a healthy smoothie for breakfast this morning.  The recipe I used didn't call for yogurt. I  am going to try cutting back some of the other ingredients a little and adding some yogurt tomorrow.

Have you ever tasted plain yogurt?  Don't shock yourself with a big gulp.

I have tasted plain yogurt.  It is not my favorite.  That is why I use it in things or mix something in.  I much prefer vanilla yogurt.

Sheri, I'm glad you liked them!  :grinnnn: I just dump them into the pot, add a bit of water and watch them...if they need even more water, I add it.

Jessica, good idea. Plain yogurt sorta grows on you....but it takes time.

Plain yogurt will never grow on me. Not unless it makes a great skin conditioner of some sort for topical application. But I am trying to see if I can use it in other things. It is slow going for me.

yep.  that'd be why i don't eat it.  although, there was a brand of blueberry that i loved.  and ate, and ate, until they quit selling it.  go figure.  i might have to try again with adding blueberries.  question.  anyone know how blueberries and cinnamon taste together?  both are good for you and i'm thinking i could add them to yogurt to make it more tolerable.

Blueberries and cinnamon complement pretty well.
I bought cinnamon capsules today. Actually they were free. Because Walgreens had a buy one of a brand of vitamin/supplement and get  second one free (of equal or lesser value). So I bought cinnamon caps and the cranberry caps were free or visa versa.

I make desserts with blueberry and cinnamon.  They are good together.

The fat free plain yogurt has a totally different texture than the cream at the top and tastes a little like dirt.  Maybe it's a coincidence but I have a stomach ache after eating it.

You didn't have a stomach ache after the other?  Yogurt doesn't bother me but ice cream does.  I get an upset stomach after eating it.  I rarely eat it and when I do, I wonder why I did that.

Try boy bait.    I think the recipe is here.

Nope.  No stomache before the yogurt but it only lasted a while.  The other is thicker and stayed thick even when I brought it to work in a container.  This was thick from the frig but today at school had gotten a little bit watery.  My granola stayed crisp in the other but was soggy in this fat free.

I'm lactose intolerate with milk but an ice cream sandwich doesn't bother me.

I was going to fix that boy bait a while back but my step dad nor Johnny would say they'd eat it so I never did.  I would have had to eat the entire thing.  It looks great.

The recipe I was thinking of did not have cinnamon in it.

The next three steps are cutting down on high fructose corn syrup, having better breakfasts, and adding more veggies to our diet

How is everyone doing?

I switched ice cream brands to avoid HFCS, along with juices. I had breakfast every day this week...some good, some quick like a smoothie. Today's was oatmeal with butter, raisins, apple, coconut, cinnamon and walnuts.  :licklips: I've been cooking with more greens...some have slid by, some have been caught. :SlapSelf:

I have looked for HFCS in labels, usually after I have the product at home because that is where my reading glasses are. :rolleyes1: I was able to look over juices in the store and spotted a lot of HFCS in a lot of them. Things like Kerns nectar. What a bummer. So I bought Pepsi Throwback, real sugar.
I have eaten, all by myself a huge canister of oatmeal through this week or more. I use cinnamon and blueberries in that. No butter. I never heard of anyone using butter until I was nearly grown. Now I just add half and half. No reason for extra fat.  I don't eat breakfast until I am up for a couple of hours though. Any earlier and it just doesn't sound good most days. That is leftover from morning sickness days.
I always eat lots of vegetables. I have been really eating salads. No iceberg but lots of different greens with a boiled egg, cheese, beans, olives and sometimes meat. It is a meal when I do. But just in the last 3 days I've also had peas (a whole can), Brussels sprouts (fresh), mushrooms (fresh), a baked sweet potato, baked regular potato, and a couple of home grown tomatoes. Plus some fruits. I can't quite seem to get enough. That is a spring and summer thing with me.

Yeah. I've added greens to pasta dishes lately. Mike was okay with it...Marissa was not impressed.
