some rose pictures for you...

first, a spray of roses...

and next 2 different shots of the same fist full of roses.

some of the petals were starting to fall as soon as i cut them.  i say i, matthew wanted to cut them.  but i did take a couple more pictures first...

Very pretty... I like the variegation in them.

a "close up" of the spray, i thought this rose was the best in that spray

and a bud on the same spray

but this was the prettiest of all of them.  was the first to lose petals though when cut...

and i have to say, that is the most neglected rose bush ever.  it is a climber and most of the time i don't cut it back, don't feed it, don't weed it, and it was a cheap walmart find.  but has been a great plant for nearly 8 years.

love the color on that one.  Is it really a very rich orange?  Sometimes my monitor lies.

Well I have some new blooms.

Here is the front foundation bed.  I finally got a decent picture by turning the camera sideways.  Today there are even more irises blooming but it's overcast.  Not so good for pictures.

This is the old fashioned wegila.  This is really turning out to be a show stopper.  I may try to get a cutting.

Now this is one independent plant.  I spend hundreds preparing the shade bed for these little things.  I do the cold germination and where does this one grow?  Under my deck on the otherside of the house.  Don't ask me how it got there I haven't a clue.  But this one is the best specimen of the bunch.

I think when I harvest seeds I'll just dump them all underneath the deck and let them have at it.

Did I ever tell you your peony that you sent me survived?  it is three stems strong now.  Now blooms yet but peonies can be like that.  I love yours.  I can't wait for the day mine begin blooming.  The others in the neighborhood have started blooming and I do get a case of the wants.

Hope you get blooms too Tammy.  I don't do anything to mine.  No fertilizer or compost or anything.  I don't cut them back in the winter.  They die back and the dead stuff stays there until the new stuff comes out.  I would really like to move them to another place but they've done so well where they are I don't want to chance it.  I did have to spray them for thrips last year.

Nice bloomers, Ladies... :giggle:

I love that rose color, Jennifer...:)

The weigila is pretty, too, Tammy. :grinnnn: How large will it get?

Do peonies have a scent, Sheri?

Here is what is blooming in my bulb bed right now...
