I finally got some anahiem peppers to sprout! On the coffeemaker, of all places...

Cardoons are pretty, ptickly plants. Do you eat them too  or are they just for visual enjoyment?

I have no idea what a cardoon is.  Or an anaheim pepper either.

A cardoon is a cousin to artichokes. They make some pretty purple flowers atop thistle-like plants. I have grown them before but not eaten them.

I like the stalks, and so do the goats...so what I don't eat they will.

Anahiem peppers are a relatively mild pepper, and they are great stuffed.

I need to live in the middle of a circle with all you guys living around me and feeding me.  We just don't eat what you guys eat.  We're boring.

These peppers are about the size of a banana...really easy to slit down the side, stuff with sausage and cheese and then grill or bake.

I try at least one new recipe a week. I hate eating the same old stuff.

It does sound very nice.  So does the cardoon.  I love artichokes.  Not to fond of cooking and cleaning them, but I love eating them lol.

I'm so looking forward to having a veggie garden next year.  Although the only odd thing I'm thinking of having in it is the kohlrabi.

Anaheim peppers are really really good, and as Sarah said, a great pepper for stuffing.

Potting up the beans today, they need to go outside, as well as the peas.

some of my peas have finally surfaced.  It took a while.

Penny, I just noticed you're a Pleasant Pixie.  How did you get "Pleasant"?  and I got "Wild".  That can't be right.

The weatherman called for rain all weekend so I didn't water but we didn't get a drop.  I hope my plants don't wither up today because it's really windy.  It was 91º and sweltering yesterday so I thought for sure we'd at least get a little storm.  I've got a few tomato plants and squash that I need to get out this afternoon.  Then I'll be watering.

Yep, planning on the weather can be a real pain.  I'm doing that a little bit in that I'm waiting until the 8th for an overcast day to plant my miniatures outside.

Wrennie, flower seeds? vege seeds?  magic bean seeds?

Penny, everything has made it this far and doing nicely.  I put out 2 pepper plants last night and threw out some zinnia seeds in the flower garden that duh sent me.

My peas are not doing well.  Do you think it's too hot for them.  I found out that Johnny's customer who has peas that are 6 feet tall now planted in October.  Mine are about 4 or 5 inches.

How often do you water?

Peas are so picky about having things just right, like Goldilocks. But they are so good straight off the vine.
