That is a great wall! And it that just stone you happened to have laying around on your property? Awesome! I'd have to pay a small fortune to have that hauled in.

That is a very attractive wall.  I'm suprised you didn't go for a stair and a straight path to the back door.  I've got a thirty foot walk from the driveway to my front door and when I have groceries it seems like a mile.

They're not laying around but when we dig we'll find them.  We have those big, shiny, white rocks laying around everywhere.  We've been stacking them for years with no reason in mind.  Then Johnny started talking about building a little wall and we thought they'd work well.

If we find some more.  We used what we had that's why we didn't do the entire side of the drive.

Well Jenn, you're welcome to them when we find them and some of the shiney white ones too.  Ginger doesn't have rocks either.  It's so interesting to me that you guys are rockless and we can't do anything without a fight because of the rocks.

I only have to deal with a few rocks on  occasion. It is funny to have a near neighbor unable to put a shovel into the ground for rocks. I guess it depends on what part of the flood plain you are on on our hillside.
But those flat slate like rocks that you have are unusual here and would be worth a fortune to sell.
That is a truly beautiful  wall, Sheri. I keep going back to look at it again and again.

We don't have that kind of flat slate rock around here either.  Well I'm sure there is some, but like Tina said, people pay a fortune for that around here.  I have all kinds of other rock because my parents are farmers.  They don't get that nice of rock though.  I sure wish they did.

we find really flat, gray colored slate too.  If I had known he could do this sort of thing I'd have talked him into doing it years ago.

Amazing wall.  I love it!  Like everyone else I am impressed that you just find those rocks as you dig around your property.  Johnny did a really good job on that wall.

Here is what Johnny did this weekend.  The first picture shows the brick that was around the bottom of the house.  Johnny covered it with stone.
