My neighbor used to have black currant bushes, and made the most amazing jams with it, and they sold, and the new ones ripped them out!!

 I have one planted to be honest I haven't had much time to take care of it and it is one of the thing doing great in my yard :)

Have you tried gooseberrys or cranberry bush as well?
