Yes, my Dad chose not to fight his cancer the 2nd time around at the age of 76. The coming July will be 10 yrs he's been gone.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen

This week I finished up 2 books.  Indulgence in Death by JD Robb.  I just love that series.  And yesterday I started and then stayed up late to finish Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.  It was a wonderful story and one that once I got started, I could not put down at all.

I read Halfway to Each Other (first book I read on my Nook) by Susan Pohlman.  It was a good book.

I love my Nook!  I really do. It is so convenient.  I have a bag that I take most places with me.  You never know when you will need a book or knitting or whatever.  I just throw it in that bag every morning and off I go.  No worrying about whether I will finish this one and not have another to start or whatever.  It is great.

I read Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.  It's the final book in her Hunger Games triology.  I've got to say, the first book was amazing.  The second sucked.  The third was just a tad better than mediocre.

I'm reading Emily's Ghost by Denise Giardina.  It's a novel about the Bronte' sisters with some biographical facts about their character.  It's good.

That does sound like a good one.

I have heard mixed reviews also about the Suzanne Collins books.

I am out of books right now and need to hit the library.  So sad.

I have got to make a list of these books to take to the library with me.  I am so slow.  But right now I'm reading a book about bulbs and then I got the letters of Plato and that thing is so thick I'll probably still be reading it come 2012.  But I could always read a couple of novels to break up the great and lofty lol.  Bet you I don't make it all the way through that one.  Any takers?

Put it under the heading bibliophile with no common sense lol.  I've bearly cracked that one yet.  This morning I went to the library to make copies of all my documents to send to the commissioner of the revenue and while I was there I just had to look at the book sale table.  You wouldn't believe what I found, Antique Books!  They had the cook books in a binder in great condition that my mother had when I was a kid.  These were the 1953 printing which was 4 years before I was born.  The libarian gave me a great deal and I got them for 10.00.  They are 12 of the 24 that were originally printed.  I'll be pulling a lot of the recipes out so that I can share them.  Talk about memories of home.

Anyway there is a leatherbound Complete works of Byron, a set of all of mark twains works, the waverly novels all leather bound.  If I were rich I'd have brought everything home.

I am way behind in my reading but I'll catch up.  At this rate I'll have to cancel tv just because I can't afford my book habit lol.

You could have much worse habits to support. A book habit is a good habit to have.

I went through and put markers on all the pages that I want to share.  This should keep me busy all year.  So many great recipes.

I've selected People of the Book to read next.  It's written by Geraldine Brooks who won a Pulitzer Prize for writting a book titled "March".  How she choose to write this book might be an interesting story in itself.  Kind of along the thinking of, "if walls could talk".  It's the story of some of the times a book has passed through in it's long history.  The book for a bibliophile lol.

We read that for my book club.  I think everyone liked it.

We're reading Searching for Cece Honeycutt.

I would probably like it a great deal more if I were into history or "dark" books.  But they really aren't my taste.  It's understandable that she would write it the way she did since she was a correspondent in that part of the world for some years.  She is certainly a powerful writer.

Is "Searching for Cece Honeycutt", a mystery?  I'm sorry I'm not familar with it.
