Topic: curious on what u use for fertilizers?

  Was just curious what everyone does for their gardens when it comes to fertilizers and do you guys do it once or more then once....

My gardens in the past have thrived in spite of me.  I do not fertilize at all.  Just plant and hope for the best.  I really need to change those practices here at the new house though.

I use compost that I've made and then  2 weeks after the seeds have sprouted or 2 weeks after I've planted an actual plant I'll put out some 10-10-10.  I just do it once.  I do occasionally do a top dressing with compost.  This year I also top dressed the tomatoes with pine needles and top dressed the other stuff with straw.

I get horse manure from a local farm and put it down in the fall as a top coat.  Then in early spring, I put down another layer of manure and till it in.  Ready to plant about 2 weeks after that.  I also make and use compost.

Compost in the spring and when I am creating new beds.
Bloom Booster to help get my plants blooming at the appropriate bloom times.
Bone Meal in the spring for the Peonies.
Holly tone in the spring and fall for the blueberries and the azaleas
Strained Fireplace ash used sparingly in the spring
Lime in the fall
Powdered Egg Shells and Epsom Salts in the tomato bed.
