Gladiolus bulb is looking weird
« on: Oct 10, 2010, 10:46:35 AM »
I should have snapped a picture before I put it in the ground.  I never think of these things in time.  Anyway while I was messing with the foundation bed I decided to dig up the glad that was buried under the ditch lily clump.  I got it out and it was surrounded by little white nodules.  It also had a baby bulb attached.  Anyone know what I am talking about?

Those are baby glads. All of them. They can be brought up to blooming size in a few years time. I have older glads in the ground all of the time. They have little babies growing all around them. Some of those have bloomed after a few years. They can also be stored over cold climate winters like normal full sized bulbs and replanted every year until they get to blooming sizes.

How cool is that.  There must be like 20 of them.  I'm excited.  I would love to have that many red glads.  I'm certainly willing to wait.
