It really looks like fern leaf dill ... I think that is what it is called.. I was just looking at it the other day cause I am going to try making pickles this summer... and am not sure if I am going to get some or not  :unsure:

My guess is Dill, too.  If we're going to get down into varieties, I don't think Fernleaf gets as tall as the ones in Phil's pic, so I'll say Mammoth (Long Island) Dill.

BTW, I read somewhere that dill is in the carrot family. :Wacko: They do sorta look like carrot sprouts when they first break ground, but then so does love-in-the-mist (Nigella damascena) & I'm sure that's not in the carrot family!

Anyone ever thought of using dill in flower arrangements? Pretty! I even use weeds with pretty foliage when nothing else is available. (Heaven knows I have plenty of weeds... I make them earn their keep!)

no, this particular herb is one you won't phind in most herb gardens, unless of course it's a herb garden belonging to an old codger...like me :SlapSelf:

It has a very nice, Old fashioned smell...

It is Southernwood (artemisia abrotanum)
Wormwood, is artemisia absinthium.
Southernwood has such a nice smell, wormwood, to me, smells a lil funky
