« on: Apr 06, 2011, 09:50:47 PM »
Just got some CornishX meat chicks.  First time with meat birds..anyone raise these?  I would like advice on feeding....and the day they become dinner.   :542:   I just have two to learn on.....they are called Extra Crispy and original Recipe.

Hmmm. I might could raise Sarah up to tutor you on the care of chicks, but I am not sure that she would want to knowing that you are going to eat them... :giggle:

LOL Bonnie..I have 2, in 6-8 weeks they should be butchering size...they are genetically bred to grow fast.  They should be the size of a roasting hen in that time....and boy can they eat.

Dianne I have chickens now been raiseing htem for the last 8 years or so..I have just never raised for meat.....for some reason I have a feeling everyone is going to have to learn how to do for themselves in the not to distant future.
