Water Lettuce
« on: Aug 24, 2007, 03:00:12 PM »
Hi All,

Another of the plants I bought when Patty and I made our field trip to Sarah's house was a plant called Water Lettuce.

It is not a spectacularly beautiful plant. But, my goodness it grows like a weed.
I brought it home and put it in the fish pond, and it is growing like crazy!  :applause:
I have lost count for sure, but believe that we now have 4 or 5 generations from the original plant, and the babies, and babies of babies are having babies!

I think I'm going to have to take some to Sarah!!! :hi:

So, anyways, thought I'd show a picture of it. It is considered a weed in some parts of the country, and now I know why.  Though, I still do not have 60% of my surface area covered yet, I know by this time next year, I'll probably be composting Water Lettuce!! :laughmao:

hugs, Peg
How are you?  I'm great!  Glad to see you! Hope we meet again!

All I have seen is the green foilage... they are a little fuzzy. Sort of like velvet.
