Ghost-hunting Do's
« on: Oct 03, 2006, 12:55:42 PM »
I would like everyone's suggestions on things that should be done while planning a spirit-hunt. Everyone feel free to add your $.02 worth!

Do

1. Research before you go to the site.

2. Carry the proper equipment to document your findings.

3. Be respectful of the property. Ask for permission before going on private property.

4.  Carry extra batteries for flashlights, cameras, recorders.  Leave them in the car or someplace other than on your person.

Great topic Dianna.  These should make for an interesting list.

Wear dark clothing  light clothes can sometimes be confusing in photos.

It is a good idea to make an inventory list of the equipment that you take. When you get ready to leave it will only take a few minutes to check the list. This way you will know that you are taking home everything that you brought.

10.  Check the weather.  It's pointless to head out on misty, rainy, foggy nights to get some good pictures.  If it's windy you might as well stay home and watch "Ghost Whisperer" or "Supernatural"!

11.  Be familiar with your equipment.  During an investigation is not the right time to be reading that 100 page manual on how to operate that fancy night-shot video camera.

12. Never yell out for someone on an investigation and never whisper. Talk in a normal voice it will be easier for someone else to recognize if they are trying to get evps.

13. Either remove the camera strap or wear it around your neck. Camera straps have been mistaken for ghostly photos. Also, make sure long hair is pulled back and your fingers are away from the camera lens...
