Show Me Your Yarn... Part 6
« on: Mar 07, 2009, 11:17:49 PM »
Nothing new to show off, but soon.  I am on the last skein and a half of my mom's afghan.

Anyone else working on things???

My mom's afghan is done.  The afghan is approximately 4 1/2 feet square.  For this project I used Red Heart Fiesta yarn in Meadow.  I used a size J hook and made it with a cluster stitch.

I think she will as well.  If anyone wants an afghan like any I make, let me know.  I am currently at the tail end of my project list and would love a new project to do.

Right now I am in the middle of a Christmas afghan, I decided to stick with just the red and green that Dan got me, same stitch as my moms alternating back and forth between the red and green.  It is gorgeous.

Thanks!  I work on my stuff nightly when I watch loads of TV.  Cannot stand to have idle fingers and it is my relaxation as well.  Last night I worked on some fingerless gloves for Alyssa's friend.  She is having a birthday party tonight and asked Lys for them because she loves Alyssa's.  I am hoping to finish up the scarf to go along with them.

My mom loved the afghan.  It is the perfect colors for her house.  I started on a new project when I was on my trip but it is in the works.  It will be a pair of lapghans for a friend of mine's daughters.  Her daughter's both just recently redecorated their rooms and one is tangerine with reds, the other purples with butterflies.  The first one is about 1/2 of the way done.

Once I got back home, I finished up the afghan that I have been working on.  It is the green/red Christmas one that I have decided to give to my SIL Cleo for Christmas.  She fell in love with it when she saw it.  So I have officially made two Christmas presents.  I am on a roll and way ahead on my Christmas preparations compared to normal.

Here it is.  It was done with Vanna's Choice 7 ounce skeins in both Kelly Green and Scarlet using an I hook and the cluster stitch.

I have finished a couple more projects in the last few weeks and am just getting around to taking pics of them now.

The Ugly Blanket is done... I have probably been working on this one for over a year now.  It is two strands of yarn using all of my leftovers.  The size is 5'x5' and very warm.

And this is one of 2 afghans I am making for my friend Lori's girls.  This one is for Becca.  She loves the color orange and he room is painted a pretty tangerine color.  Her bedspread is shades of red with flowers all over it.  I am really hoping this will go well in there.

This one is done with 4 skeins of Red Heart Hot Red and 3 skeins of Sunshine print.  I used a G hook and the ripple pattern.

Good job on finishing up the Ugly Blanket! What are you going to do with all of your leftovers now? :ScratchHead:

I think Becca will be thrilled to get the blanket. I am sure it will match whatever she needs it to... :grinnnn:

I started another one Dianna, I could not help myself.  I refuse to throw away yarn and the Ugly Blankets are a great way to use them up.

I don't think it is ugly at all. And I love the other one too. I think Becca will also. No, you cannot waste your yarn ends.

I think it is pretty as well Tina, it is just the pet name I have for that type of afghan.

I finished up my 2nd afghan for Lori's girls.  This one is for Lys' best friend Lani.  She love purple and her room is a light purple with a bedspread that is loaded with bright colored butterflies.  I thought these colors would go great in there.

This one is done with 4 skeins of Red Heart Amethyst and 3 skeins of a Red Heart print called Bikini.  I used a G hook and the ripple pattern.
