honeydew?  I don't plant mellons.  I know they're so good for us but the only mellon I like is watermellon.

my church group is having a meeting teaching about raised bed gardening.  the question should I go and play the devils advocate?  I'm so bad.  If I go I'll miss the new episode of bones.  That's my favorite tv show right now so I don't really want to miss it.

Actaully I'm not sure, these seeds said Amish Melons, and this is the first time i have grown them.

AMISH MELON is a wonderful heirloom that produces oval fruits 8"-9" long and weighing 4-7 pounds. Sweet orange flesh is very juicy with full muskmelon flavor and rather thick rind. Good producer.  80-90 days.

It's an heirloom  Cantaloupe.  :542:

Tammy, did you go to church meeting?  I like going to those things because I meet fellow gardeners.

Sarah, I can't find dill seeds or plants this year.  What's up with the universe?

Wrennie, thanks.  I'm still looking.  I'm having a time finding plants and seeds of all sorts this year for some reason.  I started early this year because last year I had a problem finding a few things but I thought I waited too long.  This year in our area everyone's complaining.  A person at Lowe's told Johnny that because of the economy Lowe's isn't keeping a large stock of anything.

I'm not asking for anything.  I've got plenty of tomatoes, squash, cukes and such either already planted or started.  I had a few basil seeds I put out and Sarah sent me some borage and I've put them out.  I just always put dill with the squash to keep away bugs.

I have an entire packet of the Long Island Mammoth Dill from American Seed.  Do you want me to send it to you?

I'm not very good with people and it's not really worth the asthma attack to go.  I always end up answering the same questions.  What do you use the herbs for?

You know that gives me an idea.  I think I'll do a lesson plan on that question and give it to the coordinator.  They she can hand it off to one of her teachers.

I'm having the same problem here.  Very, very limited selection and they want the moon and the stars for what they do have.

I always ask that question too.  Since I'm not much on cooking to start with and Johnny likes everything as plain as can be I don't use many herbs and am always interested in how people use their herbs.  I can cook.  I just don't do it much anymore.

I'm going to look for dill again today Tammy.  I'll let you know if I find it.

The dill seeds in grocery store spice isles will sprout most of the time.  :wink5: As will the coriander (cilantro).  :grinnnn: And the poppy seed.

Cool I hope you enjoy it.  You know I'm looking to share my seeds so that we have fresh for our exchanges.  So, I would be very happy if you would let me send you mine.

The lowe's here is OVERFLOWING with flowers and plants.  Every time I got there they've got tons of new stuff.  In fact, they are overloaded right now and have things like columbines for $2 (in a half gal container) and then all their gorgeous asiatic lilies are down to $3-5, and lots of other clearance plants.  I went in for mulch yesterday and about died.  Unfortunately, Adam was with me, so I left with just my stupid mulch.   :razberry: :razberry:

Yes, our Lowe's and Home Depot are loading up with plants because Memorial Day kicks off gardening season big time, I guess. They have cordoned off part of the parking lots for the stuff.

My Lowe's sucks.  It's the most expensive one in all of the Charlotte area and they never has a sale.  Maybe I should take a ride into Matthews this afternoon.  Thanks for the news.

Hey bestofour I got your dill in the envelope.  I'll be taking it out to the mailbox shortly.  So as long as I don't get the mailman who has been storing everyones mail in his garage it should be to you in a few days.

I'm so tempted to ride into lynchburg and see if they flower selection has improved but I am determined to be good.

Well enjoy the shopping and i'll enjoy it vicariously lol.
