I have one small section near my front walkway that is about 2x2 on each side and I would like something pretty there that is compact and low to the ground as I do not want the flowers falling into the walkway and getting stomped on.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

I will definitely have to look for it... does it come in other colors?

I have panzies along one side of my sidewalk they are doing great.  And although they are annuals they do bloom continually throughout the growing season.  They are low to the ground so you wouldn't need to worry about them creeping over your sidewalk.  in a two by two square you could probably plant 9 plants and have it look nice and full without looking overcrowded.  And of course they come in every color imaginable.

A two for one sale.  They saw me comming didn't they?  They knew I couldn't resist.  And I didn't even get what I went for really.  I was looking for perennials that are in bloom at this time of year.  Other than the wegila, pansies, and petunia nothing else is blooming.  Mostly because the cut beattle got my peonies blossoms.  I'll get those beattles next year.

Ok I have pictures.  Not the best pictures but I do try.

You can't really see the lilies in this one.  When they are all blooming I'll try for another shot.  Sometime when it is really bright.

Here is one of the two groupings of celosia.  As you can see they are tiny.

I'm so glad to have these even if they are annuals.  Hopefully I'll be able to get seeds.

Here are some more pictures.

Here are the impatience.  I love the double bloom of these.  I wish I could figure out how to propigate them.

Can you see the ice plants?

I have two more pictures to upload.  Then I'll be all updated on what's blooming in my garden.

I messed up a bunch for some reason it's the same picture with different names.  lol.  Don't ask me where my mind was...we all know I don't have one.

This is sooooooo cute.  I'm hoping it will spread like regular clover but I doubt it.

These are actually vibrant yellow.  For some reason I have a hard time getting that color to come through.

i'm definitely not keeping to my original color scheme but that doesn't seem important to me as long as things besides weeds are blooming.  I think the purple driveway bed is going to be way cool.  I know the balloon flower is blue but it's very close to light purple to me so I think it counts.  I can't find any hickory I've probably mowed it all down at one point or another.  The next thing I want to add to that bed is some of the purple mums when they come out this fall.

Looking good, Tammy... :good2:

Have you tried doing cuttings of your double impatiens? I bet you could propagate them that way... :ScratchHead:

I can't overwinter in the house.  I tried that the first year and got overrun with spider mites.  I've got bugs galore in the yard even when I spray.

A regular cutting?  A softwood cutting?  I'd be interested to try.  I should start that in the fall right?

I deep dark purple.  If you look at the ice plant picture and look on the right hand side right below the railing you can see the lilies.  It's kind of one of those things if you know they are there you can see them kinda?
