stromboli and penne pasta are both good.

we had chicken baked on a bed of broccoli and mushrooms, smothered in cream of chicken soup, served with couscous.  it was good.  i made the couscous the way my best friend does, and both they guys liked it, after saying they didn't like couscous :good2:

So tell me how you make the couscous, please. I have never had it and just bought some. The directions basically say to steam it like rice.

it is super simple.  to make it taste good and not dry, use 1/2 c fluid to 1/3 c dry couscous.  now, here's how you make it taste good.  use broth instead of water.  then, after you get the right amount of liquid, add between a half stick and 2/3 stick of butter.  salt to taste.  bring the liquid to a boil - turn the heat off, add the couscous, stir it in well, then cover and take the pot off the hot burner. let it sit at least 5 minutes, but however long is ok.  you have to "fluff" it before you serve it, but it doesn't stick like pasta, so it fluffs easily.  i used chicken broth, but i am betting either beef or vegetable stock would be good too.

Mine has about the same directions only it calls for steaming for about 20 minutes. Is there couscous quick? Or instant couscous like instant rice? Mine isn't that, I don't think.

I am trying out a crockpot lasagna today. It goes together like a regular no-boil noodle one but layered in the crock. Then cooks for hours all by itself. We will see how it is.

I think I'm having hamburger and potatoes.  I have no energy to do anything creative.
