I've seen the rectangle looms too, and pattern books for the KK in stores. Its pretty easy to do and the instructions are easy to follow that come with it.

Here is my latest project... and Michael enjoying his new Wiggles hat...

clickable

I think I have finally gotten the hang of the sizing on the hats.  It does not come out the best in the pics but close to his face is blue and the top of the hat is purple.

That is so cute, Triss. Don't tell you munchkins, but I've never seen the Wiggles. So outside of your costume and this hat, I haven't a clue.

I promise I will not tell.  They are a group of 4 guys out of Australia.  They all worked together or were in a music group together and have backgrounds in childhood education and that is how they got started.  They sing all kinds of rhyming, fast paced songs with dance moves that really catch kids attention and their shirts are yellow, red, blue and purple.  Some of the additional characters are Captain Feathersword, the friendly pirate, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog.  It is very cute.

One of Mikey's favorite songs is "Fruit Salad, Yummy, Yummy"  Prior to this song, if I would mix fruits, Mikey would not eat them... now we make fruit salad and he sings the song AND eats the salad too. :grinnnn:

That young'un really has some beautiful eyes, Triss. The girls will all be chasing him in a few years. Are you ready for that? :D

I had never heard of the Wiggles, either, until I had Reyla for that six week stretch. She really enjoyed that program. It was fun to watch her dance while the Wiggles were... :)

Not at all Dianna.  And he is the one I worry about most when it comes to girls.  He has that streak in him that will give me more gray hairs than all of the others combined. :grinnnn: He reminds me soooo much of my brother Jake.

We love the Wiggles here, I was VERY skeptical at first and Dan was totally against them but it only took a couple of shows to see that they really know what they are doing when it comes to combining education and entertainment to kids.

That is a PBS offering? We don't get PBS here. We used to but they took it off of our grouping of available channels. I sure miss Antiques Roadshow.

No, it is a Disney Channel thing.  It is not on as often as it used to be but we have several of the DVD's and a couple of homemade ones from the shows as well.  Mikey could watch it 24/7.

Oh, we do get Disney, east and west. I'll have to check it out. Ted loves Bear in the Big Blue House. I just added Wiggles videos to Ted's Xmas list. That is to tell other family members what to get him.

Back to yarn. I went off topic. Can someone tell me the basic felting, yarns that work best and how it is done?

Well, I believe it is what I did to my dad's navy sweater when I was a teen. Washed it in hot water and shrunk it. It fit beautifully after, me not him. And was all very tight knit and fuzzy.

Oh boy, I hope that was not his favorite sweater.  What are you thinking about making with felting.

How did your red/black afghan turn out?

And what is next in line?

I haven't touched my r&b afghan in weeks. It was too hot to work it and I've been really busy. Because I can't find a sweater for myself the style I would like, I'm thinking of making one. But it may all have to wait for inspiration. I was checking out some of Wrennie KK patterns and thinking of breaking into Jonni's Christmas gift.

Now that is funny.  It is pretty easy to use but hard on the hands.  I think I need to find a different way to hold it while I am working cuz my arms are sore from using it and my wrist that has been healing pretty well is achy.  I am giving it a break for a bit before I work on another, have a few other things I really need to get done anyhow.

What would you all do as a project with the extras of chunky yarns?  I do not have enough of any one thing to make something and they are too thick to incorporate into my scrapghan.  Just looking for an idea.

Are the chunkys all about the same thickness? On crochetville they make "magic balls" with leftover yarns. Tie all the ends together roll it up into a ball. It 'magically changes as you go. Make a scarf, hat , whatever, Kind of like a patchwork yarn that way. Or keep saving them for a chunky scrapghan.

They are all different sizes which is why I cannot work them into my current scrapghan... But perhaps one on its own... I guess I could edge it with one color yarn to even out the sides.  Was just not sure how it would turn out.  There are so many different textures, thicknesses and colors.

I plan on making my scrapghan just that way, with a mess of textures, thicknesses and colors all jumbled, Triss. The weirder the better. I've been buying a couple of balls or skeins at a time to add to the mix. the more the merrier. I plan on mixing eyelash with suede with fun fur with mohair.......... As many colors as I can get. Absolutely no theme. I will work two strands at a time and mix a thinner with a thicker  but will avoid matching colors as much as possible.

Theres a style called free form crochet. That would work well with all different sizes, styles, textures, of yarn. (look at crochetville)

I am both happy and sad today.  Happy that I am ALMOST done with the wedding afghan... sad that I ran out of yarn less than two rows from the end.

And I have been messing around with using up my chunky yarns into a scarpghan... this is what I have so far.  Not sure I like it yet so I am going to look at it for a few days and decide where, if anywhere I want to go with it.
