I posted right before you closed the other one.  Do I need to move it.  Hope not because I don't know how.

Thank you Triss.  I enjoyed making that so much even though I was almost through and had to start over completely.  I've started a pair of socks now but it's hard for me.  If my OCD doesn't kick in I may not finish them.  Your afghan is lovely.  Is it a gift?

Sheri. You can just repost it here. That is a good looking dish cloth. I've never used a pattern for a scarf. I just crocheted until I liked the length.

My husband wants one but the knitted one I did is too fuzzy for a man I think.  I went to another topic on here and found a link to patterns.  I'll have to figure out the crochet stitches though.

I love those dish cloths.  I buy them all the time.

I do not think I even want to attempt socks.  All I do for my scarves is got back and forth with a double crochet.  A good yarn for a mans scarf is Red Heart Plush.  It is still soft but comes out looking really nice and not so girly.  I have done one in black and dark blue and they looked nice.

Thank you Triss.  I'll check out the Red Heart Plush.  I think I need some type of pattern so I'll know what I'm doing.  I'll have to get a pattern with instructions for the stitches.  Maybe I can get one with a back and forth double crochet like you do.  I think I should only use one color to start with.  I'm not an expert like you guys.

Gotta run.

That is a beautiful afghan, Triss. The recipient will be doing a lot of oohing and aahing, too!

She is going to love it Triss and the fact that it was made by Family for Family, will make it that much more special.

He has two I made so do not feel bad for him at all.  And I am working a massive jean quilt just for him as well.  He wants it really big so he can wrap up in it.

Yes, John really liked my first afghan. Except he wanted one bigger. I will make him one if he pays for the yarn! It gets mighty expensive.

The large ones sure do add up.  I have been saving the wrappers from the one I am making but have not added them up yet to see what this one is going to end up costing but it is a lot more than you can buy a blanket for... well worth it in my opinion.

have yous ever  knitted or chrochet squares n sewd em together for a afgan/blanket ?  i was lookin at one site somewere n it said to sew it together with thred,  wouldnt thred cut into the yarn after wile? or are they talkin bout someother kins thred? unless they were talkin bout one string of yarn as the thred?

seems like every time i start to make a dent in my knitting my bb or the cats get ahold of it,  so im gonna try squares,

I have done that a lot and I use yarn to put the pieces together, in the last few years I have tried another technique to put the squares together by only crocheting the border fully around the first square and then as I am finishing up each additional square, adding it to the afghan.  It is more difficult since you have to thread the yarn through and then stitch but it looks so nice when it is done because it lays smoother.
