Show me your Yarn part 4
« on: Feb 06, 2008, 02:25:58 PM »
I started a new tube scarf on my KK. The small blue hoop. It is a slightly fuzzy white with lime green cello yarn for about 4 inches at the end then the other end I'll add the green again.

Look, I know the supernatural is something that isn't supposed to happen, but it does happen...RZ

Ohhh that sounds pretty!  I bet the lime green really pops out against the white.

I have been working on all kinds of afghans but nothing done yet.  Took a break to work on a project for my mom.  She wanted some wool fingerless gloves.  Here is the first one.

This is the first time I have worked with a yarn that made me itch and I have worked with wool blends before.  Drove me nuts and I do not care for the solid gray at all.  Mom liked it though so that is all that matters.

Thanks Christy.  At least with blocks, starting all over is not nearly as big of a deal as a big afghan would be.

I picked up some yarn for my MIL yesterday.  It is amazing the different types of yarn available nowadays!  MIL is going in for eye surgery and can't quilt anymore so she has been crocheting like crazy.  I got her a skien each of pink, light blue, and teal Yarn Bee "Party Girl" and of Yarn Bee's Elvish Eyelash Yarn in cameo (varigated pinks).  The yarn is so cool - I want them!!

What a nice gift Sarah!  I am sure that is going to keep her hands busy while she is recovering!

I finished up a blanket this weekend.  This is one of two that I will be giving to Alyssa's teacher for her twin granddaughters due this spring.  I started the next one as well which will be the same colors but opposite in design.

I liked it.  Then if the girls REALLY look alike, they could tell who is who by the blankets... I dunno.  I thought it would be cute for twins.  Had they been boy/girl twins I would have changed the multi colored yarn to one with blues in it along with the greens.

Would you like me to send you a little sample?  I bet you could figure it out better that way than from my rambling how to.

Finished up a couple of small things this weekend.

The hand warmers for my mom.  I need to do these in bold and bright colors.

And another school scarf for the kids.

Wow those pics are bright, guess I need to use another background other than my pale yellow comforter.

Ok I finished up the twins blankets after going on a marathon to get them done once Lys' teacher called to say they arrived early.  And the day they chose happened to be not only their momma's birthday but also Alyssa's, how cool is that.

So here they are together.  The difference in them is that they start with different colors, notice the rows on the bottom.  Other than that, they are identical.

I have 3 afghans in the works right now, a purple one, yellow and green.

No thats OK. The way my arms tire out so quickly I probably wont be doing it any time soon anyhow. And I got that tunishian crochet hook that I havent even played with yet...

Wrennie, are your arms getting worse?  I cannot imagine right now not being able to crochet.  How is the KK tube scarf going?

Hello Triss, When I get a scanner that works, I can scan & send the pattern to you for those baby afghans. I've had the pattern book for about 25 years & used it for many, many baby gifts.  I'ts a complicated pattern in that the orientation changes.  The center square is isn't the same as the next round of colors.  After a few rows of white, the pattern changes so that the next set of colors orients on the diagonal, then after more white rows, the orientation changes back to be the same as the center square.  Not easy to explain in a few words.  Looks like to me that you have many projects in the fire at one time.  The ripple baby afghans are very nice looking.

Carol,  Patty was nice enough to show me the afghan and you are right, it does look a bit complicated with all of the different types of crochet in it... a picture sure does not do it justice and I thought it was gorgeous from the pics.  Much nicer to see in person.

I always have a bunch going on... keeps my hands busy when watching TV and keeps me from going insane when I cannot get my hands dirty outside.
