What will be in your garden 5
« on: May 25, 2010, 08:00:43 PM »
My basil and parsley sprouted!  I just have to try to keep them well watered.  They don't like it when the sun shines right on them.  I need to plant out my other herbs - and I finally did find my pesky dill.  It was still in my seed box, right under "d."

I didn't collect seeds last year with my foot and the depression so if you have an extra 5 seeds of the cinnamon basil I'd really appreciate them.

sheri your going to be overrun with dill now lol.

did I mention that I have dill coming up?  Plenty of dill as a matter of fact.  I planted all the seeds you guys sent.  I've either got borage or basil coming up too.  I can't tell what is what when it's so small.

Your the BEST, Best.  Penny said she would send me some in the fall from her harvest.  And that is way cool with me.  I love cinnamon basil but I planted it all last year and then had the foot thing and didn't harvest any of the leaves or the seeds.  It was totally wasted.

My white borage is blooming....it's pretty, but I prefer the blue. I'll be using both to candy and then decorate a wedding cake....

You dip them in a sugar syrup and let them dry. Often with more sugar sprinkled on top.

ah, a new basil red rubin I've never heard of it.  What does it taste like?  How do you use it?  Inquiring minds want to know please.

The lemon balm is comming back after a bad transplant so I'm happy.

Lemon balm is a tough plant. Hard to kill it. Even if you want too.
I grew chocolate mint one year. The second year it wasn't real chocolatey at all.
