Show Me Your Yarn... Part 5
« on: Sep 11, 2008, 12:30:02 PM »
Ok here we go again... let's see what projects you have been working on lately.  I know that with summer, crocheting and knitting have not been a priority but with cooler weather coming, I am sure that projects will be in the works again.  So please share and inspire us all.

I made this afghan, called Stadium Rose, for son #2 as a shower gift when he got married 9 months ago and now am starting another for son #1 on his upcoming wedding, date unknown!  At least I have time!  I only like working on these in the winter!!   I will be changing the colors according to new DIL's decorating.

This is a very warm afghan, great for those cold nights:

Thank you both and it is very warm! We all fight for them in the winter.. LOL ... my puppies and I are always under mine

I have a book with this pattern, but if anyone would like the pattern, this is it. It's called Stadium here:

It's a very easy pattern.

I like that one too.  Must make for fast work when crocheting.

I have been very busy lately but have not had anything actually finished yet until this weekend.  Here is what I have.

This set is for my niece Leann who is expecting in January.

And these are some of the critters and hats I made with my leftover yarns.

I actually finished up the afghan for Melissa but when she stopped by last weekend unexpectedly, I gave it to her and never took a picture.  I asked her to take one for me and will post it when I get it.

My latest works are a blues/ocean theme and a pale purple set.  The blue just needs the hat and octopus and I just barely started on the purples.

Love the afghan, Yezitis! Looks like it would chase the cold off on a cool night...

Beautiful work, Triss! I am positive that Leann, and anyone that receives the critters, will be more than thrilled... :grinnnn:

Thanks you two.  Right now I am taking a break from afghans and working on some scarves and hats for the younger boys.  They want school colors so they are all getting black and orange scarves and hats.  Go Tigers!  I want them all finished before the Homecoming game cuz I think I will take the kids to that one. So far one scarf down and two to go.

The last time I did a scarf I did a Doctor Who scarf.  It was so funny to see him heading out to do a gig with this long scarf trailing behind him.  That was so much fun.  Thanks for the memory tag Triss.

So far I've done 4 more blocks for the Michaels Crafts Project.  But I've also decided on the colors for the zigzag afgan I want to do for the living room.  I'm thinking I want the green, yellow, blue with a hint of copper colors.  That should be nice.  Now if I can just find the colors.

Did I mention that I did two of the t-towels with the crocheted tops that button around the stove handle?  Well I did.  And they look pretty good.

Oh Tammy, there is a wonderful yarn out there that has all of those colors already in it.  It is a bit hard initially to get used to working, and does best on a larger hook but turns out so awesome.  I made my niece an afghan out of it for her wedding.  Here is a picture.  Are those the colors you are looking for?  If so I can find out the name and info for you.

I'm thinking more like Cobalt Blue, with a Pale Lemon color and a Forest Green with the Copper.  And I want the stripe that using solid colors gives for the zig zag.  It seems like I loose the impact of a zig zag pattern when I use varigated yard.

But thank you very much for thinking of me.

I got to the store and decided I didn't quite like the colors that I was thinking about.  So I ended up with a forest green a pale yellow and an aqua color I think plus a natural or off white type of color.  So hopefully this will work.  I'm so not good with colors.  I hope I did right.

Sounds very pretty.  I would try the colors together in a very small square to see if you really like them.

My latest finished product, this time for a girl...

And I am onto my next projects now, first a hat for Dan to wear in the freezer at work and then a baby blanket in the peach and white yarn I just got from Tina.
